Planning for 2025 is underway!
Thank you to those who provided feedback—your ideas have been included in this survey. Since there’s no single approach that suits everyone, we’ll go with majority opinions where possible.
Key points to consider:
- The final event plan will depend on budget, but KCC is already seeking sponsors and state grants.
- There’s been a couple of proposals to extend the festival over a month, with special opening and closing events. This has been added for your consideration.
- Not every venue needs to participate heavily; critical mass is key, but some doing less is fine.
- We’re exploring a pop-up accommodation option for caravans/camping. It’s ambitious, but could add new opportunities. Share your venue suggestions if relevant.
- We encourage venues to host their own opening and closing events, with KCC available to help orchestrate for venues to try to avoid conflicting times.
- The 2025 PR campaign will likely receive less editorial coverage than 2024, which focused on the anniversary.
- Influencers will be used again, on an opt-in basis.
- The current pricing model based on publicity received doesn’t work well, as editorial content isn’t guaranteed and media outlets handpick whatever they find most interesting. Venues conducting active marketing also naturally get more exposure.
- We propose a new pricing model based on venue capacity, making it fairer for all venues and more accessible for smaller businesses and sole traders.
- Easter is 18-21 April, Mothers Day 11 May. Keep this in mind when preferencing dates!
Please be constructive, respectful, and honest in your responses. Your suggestions are very welcome—there’s a section in the form for this!
