THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT
There’s a curious overlap in the way we talk about wine and music. A sparkling wine is bright and effervescent – and so is a Vivaldi allegro. A great Shiraz is full-bodied, warm, brooding – and so is a Brahms intermezzo.
We use the same vocabulary because we’re responding to the same underlying qualities: weight, texture, light, depth, warmth.
For one evening at the end of May we’re inviting you to a totally unique and unforgettable experience crafted by the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the WA Symphony Orchestra, Chalet Rigi and our local vignerons.
This is not a concert with wine on the side, nor a tasting with music in the background. It is a genuine pairing evening, built from the ground up. You’ll be welcomed with a glass of sparkling on arrival, then guided through four carefully chosen wine and music pairings – each presented by the winemaker themselves, each matched to a piece performed live by the WASO string quartet. Of course there will be food too, and plenty of it, but served in a relaxed, progressive grazing style, with a variety of menu items available throughout the evening. A bit like the wine and music, the food will be a journey, with guests moving through the Chalet itself as the tastings progress.
The closing Bickley Harvest Festival event takes place at Chalet Rigi, an extraordinary new venue in the Bickley Valley that is not yet open to the public. This is a rare opportunity to be among the first to experience it alongside some of Western Australia’s finest winemakers and musicians, in a setting designed for exactly this kind of occasion. Places are limited, and we expect them to go quickly.
